What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is an induced trance like state somewhere between awake and sleep. That dream like state we are in just as we are falling asleep and again just as we are waking up – not quite asleep and not quite awake. We experience trance several times each day effortlessly whilst doing things like driving, reading a book, watching television etc. If you have ever driven somewhere and realised that you can’t remember details of the route, that is hypnotic trance.
What is hypnotherapy?
I like to describe Hypnotherapy as a "guided mediation with a purpose"
Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool a trained hypnotherapist uses to facilitate the change of unwanted programmed behaviours, habits or beliefs using personally constructed imagination and suggestion techniques. Whist in a trance the subconscious mind is fed repeated suggestions and imaginations to re-programme previously learned unwanted behaviour
How quickly does hypnotherapy work?
It will depend on the individual and on the desired outcome. Usually you will feel some shift from the first session. Some people experience immediate changes after just one session. Typically each focused change will take between 2 and 5 sessions.
Can everyone be hypnotised?
Yes, but everyone will experience hypnosis differently. Some will remember every moment and every word of the session from beginning to end, some will not remember anything. Typically the more sessions you have, you will experience trance quicker and deeper each time.
Can you make me cluck like a chicken and tell you all my secrets?
NO, unless of course you want me to! Clinical Hypnotherapy is very different to stage hypnosis, but it is important to understand that even stage hypnosis subjects will only follow out those suggestions which align to their moral beliefs. We will discuss before hand exactly what your desired outcome is and any boundaries you have.
Is hypnotherapy safe?
Hypnotherapy is completely safe and has been used for many years. It is currently being used in some hospitals around the world in place of anesthesia for minor operations and dental work.
At the very least you will leave a hypnotherapy session feeling very relaxed and positively motivated.
What people are saying.....
It's fair to say that I was a little apprehensive as I arrived for my first hypnotherapy session, not really knowing what to expect.
Vanda very quickly put me at ease and as I sat in the comfortable surroundings she explained how the session might go.
I was open to the experience and very surprised how quickly I began to relax and be hypnotised. Vanda was gentle and kind throughout. By the end I felt extremely relaxed and uplifted.
I am looking forward to my next session.
Thank you Vanda

Thankyou for the two amazing sessions we have had. Your guidance has helped me enormously. You are empathetic and insightful and I have come away from each session feeling lighter and in awe of hypnotherapy and the work you do. I look forward to working with you again in future. X Sophie
Vanda is an incredibly kind, compassionate and professional hypnotherapist with excellent rapport building skills. In my several sessions with Vanda I have found her to be completely focused on my issues, working diligently with compassion and empathy towards finding a solution. I would highly rate Vanda to anyone seeking a top notch clinical hypnotherapist.
I recently had a hypnotherapy session with Vanda, centred around my phobia of rodents. The session was both relaxed and professional. I was at ease throughout. Would highly recommend. Nicky Auckland
